This month’s home health care tip comes from Lee Ann Buchanan, RN/QA.
Did you know that 2/3 of the human body is water? Water is necessary for your body organs to function properly & eliminate toxins from your body. It’s important to drink plenty of water & it’s especially important in the warmer summer months.
Dehydration is what happens when your body loses water & it doesn’t get replaced. Warm weather causes our bodies to lose extra water so it’s especially important to “drink up” in the summer.
It’s really important to drink plenty of water if you are on a medication that helps you to eliminate it. Those medications help you to lose water from parts of your body where it’s not supposed to be. You still need to get fluid to the right places by drinking enough, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Have a happy healthy summer!
